Consider how the wildflowers grow
"Let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you." - Andy Warhol
Have you felt the sunshine on your skin today? Listened to the birds outside your window or noticed the wildflowers thriving – even growing amongst the harsh concrete of our built environment?
Today, challenge yourself to take a moment to consider the simple pleasures in life. There is joy to be experienced in everyday moments that we often miss.
Stop.
Just for a second or two.
Stop checking your phone. Stop checking your email. Stop checking the statistics just for a moment.
Look outside, step outside if you’re able and just take a slow, deep breath.
What do you see?
What do you feel?
Slow down and appreciate it.
Next time something good happens, stop whatever you are doing, give it a second and appreciate that moment. It can be as simple as hearing children laughing next door, watching a bird make his nest or even noticing your dog wag his tail out of pure joy to see you.
Notice it. Consider it. Relish in the beauty of the now.
